The Consulate General recommends the following:

Have ready all necessary documentation before departure:

	Return air ticket.
	Passport with a validity of more than 6 months and free pages.
	National Identity Document of country of origin.
	Corresponding visa if necessary (see list of countries whose nationals travelling as tourists do not require a tourist visa to enter Venezuela).
	Comprehensive travel insurance.
	Once arrived to Venezuela, remember that it is compulsory to carry identification with you (passport). It is advisable to safeguard the rest of your documentation in a separate location. Keep also a photocopy of your passport.
	Try to use your credit card whenever possible, instead of carrying large amounts of cash with you.
	Write down the address and contact numbers of your Embassy or consulate.
	Ask in your hotel or to friends about the security of the areas you wish to visit.
	Vaccination for yellow fever is recommended for travel outside the urban areas of Venezuela. There might also be risk of malaria in the rural areas of the following states: Apure, Amazonas, Barinas, Bolivar, Sucre, Tachira, and Delta Amacuro.
